Things to do on a Seattle weekend if you are the lucky winner!

Visit SAM – the Seattle Art Museum.  The main exhibit site is located at 1300 First Avenue.  You can also check out the Asian Art Museum and the Olympic Sculpture Park.

Take an Underground Seattle tour.  This tour takes you beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. These tunnels were at one time the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle. Tour guides provide stories and an insight into the history of the old city.

Stroll through the gardens at Chihuly Garden and Glass. Glass in also displayed in the Exhibition Hall and the Glasshouse.

Try the interactive exhibits at Pacific Science Center located at Seattle Center or watch a film in the IMAX Theatre.

Ready for some nourishment? There are a plethora of great restaurants in Seattle to choose from.  You can’t go wrong visiting any of world-renowned Chef Tom Douglas’ eateries.  My personal favorite is Lola’s at 2000 4th Avenue.

If you have any room after completing your meal, walk across to Douglas’ Dahlia Bakery and indulge in their famous donuts, served warm with vanilla mascarpone and seasonal jam.

And no trip to Seattle is complete without a walk through Pike Place Market. This is Seattle’s original Farmer’s Market, established in 1907. It covers several cobblestoned blocks of Pike Place at the foot of Pike Street, an easy walk from the center of downtown.

For a treat unique to the Northwest, while at the Market stop by Ellenos Real Greek Yogurt on the corner of Pike Place and Pike Street for some local Marionberry Greek yogurt.

Seattle is worth a trip even if you don’t win the Seattle Weekender.
