PEOPLExpress Airlines Launches Service June 30
PEOPLExpress Airlines plans to begin service on 30 June 2014 from Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport in Virginia. Flights will be operated by Vision Airlines dba PEOPLExpress. Their fleet is made up of three Boeing 737s with 150 seats each.
The airline will operate in underserved markets in the Eastern United States with initial service of four daily round trip flights; one to Pittsburgh PA, one to Boston MA and two to Newark NJ.
They plan to expand service over the summer to include round trip flights from Newport News to West Palm Bach FL, Atlanta GA, New Orleans LA and St. Petersburg/Clearwater, FL. Their goal is to be in 24 cities in five years.
PEOPLExpress is launching with extremely competitive fares as low as $76 each way. Add-ons will be a part of their fare structure with charges for both checked and carry-on baggage. Additional add-ons include charges for exit row seats and advance seat assignments as well as charging for in flight beverages.
